Announcing the 2017 Old Man River Quilt Fest!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the new Old Man River Quilt Fest site! We have begun adding classes for the 2017 Quilt Fest and tickets will be available for sale starting on February 1, 2017 at 8 am Central Time. Based on our feedback from last year, we’ve changed the process a bit. You will be required to create an account on this site to register for classes. If you need to change or cancel your registrations, you can do so by logging into your account and canceling your order. If you run into problems, you can contact us via email and we will help you.

At the moment, we are still waiting for some final details from some of the teachers who are planning to attend and give classes at the 2017 Quilt Fest. We will be adding these classes as soon as we get the information we need.

Thanks and welcome back!

Quilting Night at Ameristar!

KaraokeFor all of you planning to attend the Old Man River Quiltfest, we have some more great news. Ameristar will be opening their Bottleneck Blue’s club on Thursday, August 18 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. This opening is only for attendees of the Quiltfest. So, if you want to join in some good times, get some refreshments, enjoy some music, and meet more of your fellow quilters, plan to swing by the Ameristar Bottleneck Blue’s Club on Thursday evening for a great time!

Be sure to check back here over the next week as we announce more cool offers available for our quiltfest attendees! You don’t want to miss any chances you’ll have to enjoy some of the more interesting and exclusive sights in the historic downtown Vicksburg area.

Up Dates!

Early registration will open on Monday, August 15 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.  On Tuesday, the registration desk will open at 7:30 am.

When you arrive at the Convention Center please come to the “Registration Table” which will be on the upper level by the front entrance.  You will be given your packet which will include:  name tag, classroom number, and goody bag.

When you arrive for your classes, you may park at the North end of the Convention Center to unload.  Go through the side entrance and you will be in the hallway where all of the classes are located.  Once you have unloaded and taken your supplies to the classroom, you must immediately move your vehicle to the parking lot. This location is for unloading only, please be considerate and do not leave your vehicle parked in this area while you setup your machines, etc.

Reminder, that there will be a “Meet the Teachers” on Tuesday evening in the Convention Hall on the lower level.  The hours for this event are 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Welcome to the Old Man River Quilt Fest!

Can you believe that it is almost time for the Old Man River QuiltFest!  We hope that all of you are as excited as we are.

Just a few “housecleaning” items:  If any of you had registered for Jan Krentz, Trish Bowman, Donna Lynn Thomas, Ami Simms, Bonnie McCaffery, Eileen Sullivan or Jennifer Amor classes, please check your email to make sure you received our notifications.  If you have not yet responded to those notices, please take a few minutes to do that today.  We want your registration to go smoothly but, most importantly, we do not want you to arrive expecting a class that has had to be cancelled.

Also, for all of you who submitted quilt entries.  If you have not checked your emails for your “Quilt Acceptance Letter” please do that.  We were so happy to be able to accept ALL of the quilts into the show.  If you cannot find your acceptance email, let me know and I will resend it, you will need that email to pick up your quilt at the end of the show.  If you entered 3 quilts, you should have 3 separate “Quilt Acceptance Letters”.   I did fail to include the address for shipping, mailing or dropping off your quilts.  That address is Stitch-N-Frame, 31 Willow Creek Dr, Vicksburg, MS 39183.

We want to thank all of you for your support and well wishes.

The City of Vicksburg, Vicksburg Visitor’s and Convention Bureau, Downtown Main Street Association, and Downtown Merchants all join Kay and the staff in extending a warm and heartfelt “WELCOME to Vicksburg and the Old Man River QuiltFest!”
